You've given me names of things, but you haven't told me anything about how they work. it's not that there's a specific thing that seems vague, it just as a whole doesn't feel concrete. I don't remember the book well enough to say more about it. what specifically stood out as vague and maybe i can fill ya in, or maybe im wrong here. I think we have a pretty good idea of how it works - its actually pretty similar to modern hacking. However, we do know that viruses etc aren't fire and forget, and on the straylight run Case and Pauley babysit it and make adjustments to some super virus as it slowly slips past ICE and rebuilds it behind them. None of our characters have any specific knowledge of how these things work, as its presumably highly technical work, or at least they never go into specifics of how these are made. ICE is used to protect things in cyberspace from unwanted intrusions, and Viruses are used to break through ICE. you can move/interact in cyberspace by inputting commands into your computer but for most cowboys this is an unconscious exercise like how typing is for you and me. So cyberspace is a sort of VR ketamine trip, where your mind is transported to some sort of wireframe world with neon solids.
